That he entered the service

a private in Teunis Slingerlandt’s Company of Militia, in
In the year Schoharie
Village was burnt, I was again ordered into the service, and went as a private
in the Company of Capt. Slingerlandt’s to the Stone Church at Schoharie, where
we were stationed with other Companies of drafted men – We went out about
harvest time and remained in the service till late in the fall – I think I
served in this tour, not less than three months – Capt. Slingerlandt returned
home before I did, and I served the remainder of the tour under Capt. Joseph
Salisbury, I think Col. Or Major Bernard had command of the Fort – I also served
as a Waggoner in the Revolutionary War, before I went to Saratoga, in carrying
timber from Bethlehem to Albany for the use of the Army – I was engaged in the
service for about three months under the direction of Col. Nicholas
Quackenbush.

hereby declares their opinion after investigating the matter, and reading the
affidavits of Isaac Van Wie, Jacob Shutter and John Oliver hereto annexed, that
the said Adam Long was a solider of the Revolution and served as he stated. -

before me the undersigned a Commissioner of Deeds for the County of Albany
personally appeared Isaac Van Wie of the Town of New Scotland in said County
who being by me duly sworn did depose and say that he had been well acquainted
with Adam Lang whose name is set forth in a subsequent affidavit and who makes
application for a pension and that he knew him in the Revolutionary War and
that he knew him to be in the service of the Militia of this State and in the
service of the United States against the Kingdom of Great Briton – And that he
served at Saratoga… and at Fort

Be it remembered that
before Me the undersigned a Commissioner of Deeds for the County of Albany came
before me Jacob Shutter of the Town of Berne in the said County of Albany who
being by me duly sworn did depose and say – That he was in the service in the
Revolutionary War against the Kingdom of Great Briton and was at Saratoga under
Captain John Van Wie and under Colonel Garret Vandenberg and from certain
circumstances that then took place and from the facts set forth of these
circumstances by Adam Lang of the Town of New Scotland to this said Deponent,
he verily believes and is satisfied that the said Adam Lang was there then in
the service at the same time at Saratoga against the Kingdom of Great Briton.

before me John Oliver of the Town of Bethlehem in the said County of Albany who
being by me duly sworn did depose and say – That he was in the service in the
Revolutionary War and further saith that Adam Lang of the Town of New Scotland
in said County of Albany was at the same time in the service at Saratoga in the
Revolution against the Kingdom of Great Briton and served under Captain John
Van Wie and under Colonel Garret Vandenberg all of the Militia of the State of
New York and also this deponent further says he and Adam Lang was both in the
service in the Militia of the State and in the service in the County of
Schoharie against the Kingdom of Great Briton in the Revolutionary War.
